Today, I had the honor of co-leading members of the Miami Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. for Delta Day at Miami-Dade County. A heartfelt thank you to Miami-Dade County Commissioner Oliver Gilbert, III for graciously hosting our chapter and engaging in meaningful dialogue on critical issues, including: - Addressing the rapid mass transit crisis - Advancing affordable housing development without displacement - Enhancing the quality of life for the diverse communities that make up Miami-Dade County It was a powerful day of advocacy, education, and sisterhood in action.

Vanessa spearheaded the programming behind Art-Cademics Academy, a youth enrichment program teaching students using STEAM curriculum which spanned throughout the summer, winter, weekend and after-school periods in Miami-Dade County in partnership with The Children’s Trust.
